Ascent’s Social Media Branding
As Lead UX Designer, I was responsible for ensuring that all social media designs aligned with Ascent’s brand identity. I reviewed and provided feedback on work from junior designers and marketing interns, mentoring them to uphold brand consistency across platforms.
In addition to oversight, I personally designed key campaign visuals, creating distinctive assets that set major initiatives apart from routine daily posts—helping to elevate high-impact moments while maintaining a cohesive overall presence. This strategic approach to visual storytelling contributed to significant audience growth—helping increase Ascent’s Instagram following from just 350 to over 40,000 followers during my time with the company.

2019 summer giveaway campaign
The first campaign I led visually at Ascent was the 2019 50-Day Summer Giveaway. This initiative also marked the debut of our space-themed branding on social media. With daily posts throughout the campaign, we had a unique opportunity to reinforce the new visual identity through consistent exposure.
To balance the space theme, which can often feel cold or distant, I introduced warm, inviting elements to the visuals. This included using curated stock photography enhanced with warm color overlays and subtle edits to ensure each image aligned with our brand’s tone. The result was a cohesive and engaging campaign that helped establish the foundation of Ascent’s evolving visual identity.
Evolving the space-themed visual identity
As Ascent’s brand evolved, I continued to iterate on the space theme, developing a wide range of visual assets for the social media team. This ongoing exploration not only kept our content fresh and engaging but also allowed us to repurpose many of these assets as UI elements within the product experience, creating a more cohesive brand presence across channels.
Additionally, my work set a creative foundation that empowered junior designers to experiment more confidently with their own visual ideas—both for product design and social media content—fostering a stronger, more collaborative design culture within the team.
